Powering the Classic 20s is the popular Stiga ST170 engine. which is designed to fit many Mountfield and Stiga mowers. so it’s well tested. For the best cut and finish on your lawn. start on the highest cutting setting (80mm) and work your way down to the lower setting (22 mm). Be aware that if you start too low. there is a chance of possible damage to the grass and the mower.

The mowing options on the Classic 18s are discharge. mulching. and collection. If you remove the grass collector. the clippings are discharged to the rear of the mower. This handy option is for areas where you can leave the clippings to wilt down naturally. The mulch plug is inserted into the rear discharge chute and works with the blade to cut the clippings into fine mulch that is deposited back onto the ground. The mulch is nearly invisible and will aid in the preservation of moisture and nutrients for the grass roots. Mulching is most effective when the grass is short and the weather is dry.
